I have to put this out there. I haven't been on this site for over three weeks. I rarely post anymore cause I think the site is slow and I just simply don't have the patience to wait for pages to load.... so I check back every now and then to see if things have gotten any better... (still slow).
Anyhow. So the first blog I visit is Holly's and I see some crazy crap going on... more bible bitches picking on her and Johnny. I'm so sick of seeing it. I have to say that these people on this site have completely turned me off to Christianity. They're the most judgemental, self rightous, hateful people I have ever come across in my lifetime. This is Christianity?? No thank you.
Why does it bother me to see this happening to these two?? Because. I concider Holly and Johnny good friends on and outside of Blogster. Both of them have helped me through some of the roughest times in my life. Holly gives me the best insights into all sorts of things. She's incredibly intelligent and hands down the strongest woman I know (funny cause she's supposed to be submissive...haha) And Johnny? Well...Johnny tells me things that I don't want to hear.... but always what I need to hear. You can't find that kind of honesty just anywhere...
These are good people. Why these indivduals on this site continue to harrass and belittle them for thier chosen lifestyle and profession is beyond me. I do however think it's bullshit. Get a damn life and find something better to do with your time. It's pathetic.

Just as well! It is difficult for Old Farts to get used to all the changes in society since they were your ages, tho'. Even I am having a difficult time resolving the differences in values & behavior between my younger friends and me. Makes for a pretty lonesome life cause I'm caught in between the old and the new, understanding both but unable to commit to either fully and exclude the other.
But, mentally, I was raised as a dinosaur by a lot of people from different christian churches back before the 70's saw the humongous changes in sexual mores because of the Birth Control Pill which makes promiscuity much easier to conceal. ("Promiscuous" was best described as "someone who's getting more than YOU are," LOL!) I mean I had/have tighter sexual mores than my own parents! Maybe I should look for a compatible psychotherapist and "let the dead bury their dead."
Anyway, Joe was nutz -- far too unrealistic and reactionary and maybe he has gone off to work on himself a little too. Veterans from pre-Vietnam era's were raised with a different mindset & people don't really change basic values/attitudes formed between ages 10 - 30! Death will eventually bring peace from many conflicts altho there's always hope to find a living means of resolution.

Ok, so you're deciding that the actions and/or words of less than 10 people represent Christianity as a whole.
So if I see 10 atheists arrested for murder/rape/child molestation, I should consider all atheists to be potential rapists or murderers.
If I see 10 homosexuals trying to lure kids into a van, I should consider all homosexuals to be child molesters.
If I see 10 Buddhists ganging up on someone and beating them up, I should consider all Buddhists to be violent cowards.
If I see 10 Democrats laughing about taxing people to death while rolling in money themselves, I should consider all Democrats to love taking people's money.
I have seen more, many more, than 10 female teachers arrested for having sex with teens in their class. I should then consider all teachers to be that way.

Look, when I come across a decent Christian... I'll let you know. But in my 24 years of experience.... I've seen nothing but false judgement and hypocracy. It goes a little deeper than that too. I was raised Catholic. About 10 years ago when my grandmother and grandfather decided to join a Baptist church I was immediately damned to hell.. because I wasn't "saved". Time has gone by and I haven't spoken to either of them in over 2 years because of their religious pushings. And I'm assuming you, leaving a smartass comment on my blog about a situation you know nothing of, are no better. Now THAT, clears things up.

Those 10 in each case you give ARE a sample & the best indicator of the group unless you have other info to present -- But don't say ALL, say true of MOST! It's called "SCIENCE" and uses "SAMPLING!" Take a class in the scientific method!
Ah, ok....so MOST atheists would be child molesters or rapists if as little as 10 were convicted. I think you need to brush up on your science before you say anything else. Well, I've met plenty of decent Christians. And decent people of many belief systems or lack thereof. The experiences you have had with a, honestly, insignificant number hardly represent all Christians any more than getting ripped off by a Jewish accountant means all Jews are crooks.
My comment, as well, was hardly smart ass. I was simply showing you that even taking 10 people of various backgrounds does not represent the whole of their respective groups. Also, "decent" is a highly subjective term. Since neither of your grandparents are here to defend themselves, I can't and won't speak to that.
Tell me, just as a curiosity, do you speak up against people who say all Muslims are terrorists? Because there's a WAY larger number of Muslims killing people and yet I wonder if you make a distinction between them and "peaceful" Muslims.

That is because you are a Christian, no? When a Christian finds someone is another faith than their own they either shun or try to convert them. The ones who want to convert never stop to think said atheist or pagan my be as well versed in th Bible than they are if not more so.

Umm...sorry, no, nothing I said had anything to do with Christianity. It was all about generalizing, double-standards, and things like that. The topic could have been anything where using a handful of people to judge millions is an illogical perspective.
But, since that's the standard here, I can "prove" one thing: I have four articles showing lesbian teachers molesting students. That means that all lesbian teachers should be removed from their teaching positions because they will all molest students. Heck, I can show you a list of about 50 heterosexual female teachers would have molested students, so I guess all female teachers will do so at some point in time.
